"My passion for serving our Brothers & Sisters behind the Walls began when I was first invited to become an In-Prison Volunteer Mentor with my church at the Eastham Unit in 2015.  In 2016, I took on a Volunteer Mentor Coordinator role at the Byrd Unit. I have chartered, Lead, & Served as a Mentor at 5 other Units since (Wynne, Ferguson, Ellis, Vance, & Walls Unit).  In addition, I have served on Inside teams for Kairos/Jubilee, Bill Glass Ministries, Mike Barber Ministries, Bridges to Life (at Plane State Women’s Unit), the H.O.N.O.R Mentoring Program for Incarcerated Veterans, Alpha Ministries (Vance Unit) & the Prison Entrepreneur Program (at Cleveland Unit) as a Volunteer Business Plan Advisor. Through working on the inside & learning about the need for Change in the Reentry system on the Outside including Second Chance Legislation. I took on a Volunteer Justice Advocacy Ambassador role with Prison Fellowship where there is an opportunity to petition our legislators for change & better opportunities for those in Reentry. Over the past few years I have led Prison Ministry Programs & special projects from Cookie deliveries to Hygiene Product collections for both men’s & women’s Units at several houses of worship. Today I have the Honor of serving on the Board for the Christian Restorative Justice Mentors Association (C.R.J.M.A) serving to Facilitate the Education, Training, & Resources for In-Prison Mentor Programming. Supporting Prison Chaplains & Volunteer Mentor Coordinators to assist in the goal of Reducing Recidivism."

“I have lived the life of an incarcerated individual in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 10 years. I understand on a deep level the concern that loved ones have for their incarcerated individuals, but I know firsthand the system works and the best avenues of rehabilitation. Many things need to be addressed that happen on the other side of those gates and will only happen with support. This is for the ones that we left behind. I have navigated my successful reentry for over a year."

Hebrews 13:3 "Remember those who are in prison, as though you are in prison with them, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
